Logistics & Supply Chain

Assessing sea, road, rail and multimodal transport options for each operation, and building the packaging, loading, insurance and delivery plan around real cost and lead-time constraints.

Evaluating and planning sea, road, rail and multimodal transport alternatives operation by operation.

Logistics is often the single biggest determinant of both cost and lead time in international trade. Choosing the right transport mode, designing packaging that suits that mode and planning the load properly can influence total landed cost more than any price negotiation. For that reason we treat transport not as a detail to be settled at the end but as a component to be considered while the transaction is still being designed.

Every operation differs in route, volume, product characteristics and destination requirements. Rather than applying a standard solution, we compare transport alternatives for each shipment in terms of time, cost and risk.

What this service covers

  • Comparison of sea, road, rail, air and multimodal alternatives
  • Selection of container type and loading plan by product and volume (FCL, LCL, bulk, breakbulk)
  • Assessment of packaging and palletisation against the transport mode and destination requirements
  • Handling of Incoterms together with their operational consequences
  • Coordination of cargo insurance
  • Planning of loading port, border crossing and destination point
  • Coordination with customs brokers and freight forwarders
  • Consolidation of multi-item or multi-source shipments

How the process works

  1. Cargo profiling. Weight, volume, packaging, handling sensitivity and destination are defined.
  2. Route and mode analysis. Suitable transport modes, indicative transit times and cost structures are compared.
  3. Fixing the delivery term. The point at which cost and risk transfer is agreed in writing between the parties.
  4. Loading plan. Stowage is planned per container or vehicle, and packaging and labelling requirements are communicated.
  5. Shipment organisation. Freight booking, insurance and document flow are coordinated.
  6. Tracking and delivery. The shipment is monitored and arrival and delivery steps reported.

Who is it for?

  • Manufacturers shipping regularly to several countries who want transport planned professionally.
  • International buyers who need visibility over lead time and total landed cost.
  • Importers looking to consolidate cargo from several suppliers.
  • Project owners handling heavy, oversized or otherwise non-standard cargo.

How to start

Product, volume, origin and destination are usually enough for a first assessment. Send them through the RFQ form, or contact us via the partnership page for a recurring shipment programme. How logistics is combined with the production and payment calendar is explained on our export operations management page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What people ask us

Who decides the transport mode?
The parties do. We compare the alternatives on product, volume, route, time and cost, and explain the operational consequences of each.
Do you operate your own fleet?
No. Transport is carried out by licensed carriers and freight forwarders. Our role is planning and coordinating the operation.
Can cargo from different manufacturers be combined into one shipment?
Where product compatibility, packaging and customs conditions allow, consolidation can be planned. It is often a significant advantage in project-based procurement.
Is cargo insurance compulsory?
It depends on the delivery term and what the parties agree. In international shipments insurance is widely used to limit exposure.
